The single ribbon capsule offers a figure-of-eight pickup pattern that picks up sound from both sides of the mic, allowing the mic to capture both the primary sound source and additional room tone. With the ability to handle maximum SPLs of up to 140 dB, the Delta 2 offers a sturdier alternative to the delicate ribbons of the past, allowing you to place it closer to loud sound sources—including blisteringly loud guitar amps.
